WOC in Manado to cost Rp380 billion


Manado, N Sulawesi (ANTARA News) - The cost of the World Ocean Conference (WOC) and the Coral Triangle Initiative (CTI) Summit di Manado, North Sulawesi, had been estimated at Rp380 billion.

"Most of the money had been spent on building infrastructure facilities, and only Rp 41 billion would be spent on holding the two events," Indroyono Soesilo, WOC national committee secretary told the press here Friday.

In the meantime, private investment in North Sulawesi relating to holding the WOC reached Rp1.5 trillion, he said.Save Our Earth

The WOC and CTI Summit will be held at the Grand Kawanua Convention Hall in Manado May 11-15, 2009, attended by experts in fishery, marine resources and the environment from 121 countries and a number of heads of government.
